Secretary General of CABIS Secretariat and Chairman of CCPIT Guangxi Committee Wei Ran Meets with Chargé d’ Affaires ad interim of Malaysian Embassy Sanmugan Subramaniam
Onthe morning ofAugust 4, Mr. Wei Ran, Secretary General of the CABIS Secretariat and Chairman of the CCPIT Guangxi Committee met with Mr. Sanmugan Subramaniam, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Malaysia to China. They exchanged views on the event preparations underthe frame of the 19th CABIS and cooperation between China and Malaysia as well as Guangxi and Malaysia.
Chairman Wei saidthat economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Malaysia is embracing new development opportunities and the FTA dividends have been continuously released in the context of the implementation of RCEP. “Two Countries, Twin Parks” projects have achieved notable successes since its 10th establishment anniversary. Malaysia has been Guangxi’s third largest partner as well as the top investment destination in trade with ASEAN countries. Since Malaysia is the country of honor at the 19th China-ASEAN Expo, CABIS Secretariat will take the opportunity of Round-table Dialogue Betwee. State Leader of Malaysia and CEOs from China to work with Embassy of Malaysia to China to promote the construction of the negotiating and building projects in important areas and key industries of Chinese business in Malaysia. Meanwhile, CABIS Secretariat will also seize the new opportunity of the construction of the Version 3.0 China-ASEAN FTA, and play its role as “Nanning Channel”to promote the economic and trade cooperation of two sides into high-quality development.
Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Sanmugan Subramaniam remarked that Malaysia-China relations remain close in high-speed development, achieving fruitful results which benefit the two peoples. The establishment of Malaysian Consulate General in Nanning in 2005 indicates the great importance which Malaysia attaches to the cooperation between Guangxi and Malaysia. The Embassy of Malaysia to China will continue to promote the two sides’ cooperation in economy and trade, culture, education, agriculture and other areas, while being highly concerned about the trade and economic activities of the round-table dialogues this year and actively encouraging Malaysian top leaders to attend various activities in accordance with the China prevention and control requirements for COVID-19. He hoped that the CABIS Secretariat can keep close contact with the embassy in order to share information and gather efforts to ensure the smooth implementation of China-ASEAN Expo and CABIS.
Mr. See Chee Kong, Minister (Trade) of the Embassy of Malaysia to China and relevant personnel from Division of International Convention of CCPIT Guangxi Committee attended the meeting.
